Guides

From draft to publishable file

Use these checklists before export to avoid the most common problems: duplicated headings, broken paragraphs, oversized covers, missing front matter and inconsistent chapter titles.

Manuscript Checklist

  • Use clear chapter headings such as "Capitolo 1 - Title"
  • Remove page numbers copied from old PDFs
  • Keep title page, dedication and synopsis separate from the first chapter
  • Check author name, book title and subtitle before export

Export Checklist

  • Select a genre-appropriate template
  • Review cover fit, page spacing and chapter breaks
  • Confirm word count, chapter count and image placement
  • Use PDF for fixed layouts and EPUB for reader apps

Chapter Heading Patterns

Draft2ebook works best when chapter titles are explicit and consistent. It can recognize common patterns like Chapter 1, Capitolo I, Parte Prima and Markdown headings, then lets you rename each chapter before export.

Template Selection

Serenity fits modern fiction and memoir. Classic works for literary drafts and essays. Noir suits thrillers. Minimal is strongest for guides and reports. Illustrated gives images more breathing room.
